Anotonio Canova
Danza delle Grazie, 1797, bas relief
Marble 144×160 cm
To witness the exceptional mastery and the profound antique sensibility of Antonio Canova, this relief, dating back to 1797, depicts the Dance of Grace and Venus in front of Mars, a subject inspired by the Odyssey passages that talk about the loves between Aphrodite and Ares. Tor Art made a marble copy of the plaster sculpture preserved in the Gipsoteca Canoviana in Possagno.
