The works of Russian sculptor Stepan Nefyodov-Erzia(1876-1959) are known both in Europe and in America. He chose as a pseudonym the name of the ethnic minority of the Mordovia region, the “ERZIA”, to which he himself belonged.
His works are comparable to those of the great artists of the twentieth century, such as Rodin, Mestrovic, Brancusi, Bourdelle.
